This project consisted in the renovation of the existing swimming pool and bathhouse located at U.S. Naval Support Activity in Bahrain.
Work within the bathhouse included the renovation of all internal finishes, (floor, ceramic tiles, false ceiling, toilets partitions, door painting, etc.) and the construction of a new block to the offices and the laundry.
The swimming pool required complete replacement of the deck, removal and grouting of pool infrastructure to replace damaged areas, painting and stripping the existing steel canopy structure and replacing of fabric shades for the canopy over the pool. Also replaced were the five starting platforms, for competitive racing, and six access ladders.
For the pool deck, presently made of ceramic tiles, an alternative surface of textured, patterned acrylic decorative concrete was adapted. The specific product, SUNDEK, was also selected as “material of choice” for other areas of the pool renovation.
For the replacement of the fabric shade, we choose a UV Stabilized High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) material over the existing steel structure above the pool.
The project also included existing perimeter screen walls and decorative metal grills that will be repaired and repainted.
