The Negele Borena Bridge is a relatively small construction project, yet critical to the people within this region of Ethiopia. According to Defense News, the bridge, constructed by the U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5, with the design and supervision of Michael-Bruno’s team of engineers supporting Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (J34), was built to provide safe passage for pedestrians and livestock crossing the Negele Borena River. On average three people each year are swept away by the river waters as they rise during the rainy season.
From its Djibouti office, opened in 2006, Michael-Bruno’s currently manages five government contracts supporting Camp Lemonnier as well as CJTF-HOA’s efforts in East Africa. The company’s technical team have completed 87 separate task order in the past 24 months within the nations of Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Maritius, and Uganda.
